Balance Core Yoga was developed by Standup paddleboard (SUP) Yoga Instructor & Group Fitness Instructor, Mary Lou Cerami, RYT. By incorporating yoga, balance & core strengthening poses using the Indo balance board, you will improve endurance, develop incredible balance skills and train your body in a totally different way. Plus, what could be better than working out at the beach while trying something fun and different?
While balancing on an unstable surface we utilize over 85% of the muscles in the body. It’s challenging, different & fun! Balance training is a great compliment to your fitness or yoga practice, cultivating whole-body awareness and calm. Next up, you’re ready to try out a Standup Paddleboard (S.U.P) Yoga class with Mary Lou on the lake this summer!
Celebrate Summer with Yoga and Wine
Friday June 21st 6:30 – 8:30p
Explore your senses both on and off the mat! Yoga instructor and wine enthusiast Rebecca Delott invites you to join her for an event that pairs two nourishing elements: an all-levels 75 minute down-to-earth yoga practice that then flows seamlessly into a mindful, 45 minute educational tasting of perfect summer wines. This energizing, informative workshop celebrates the natural connection between the abundance of the vinyasa practice and the sharing of the earth’s fruit of the vine. Rebecca Delott spent years in the wine import business before becoming a yoga teacher. This blend of experiences allows Rebecca to skillfully explore the profound relationship between the grounding of one’s spirit/mind/body through the yoga practice and the anchoring process of the vine. Cost of the workshop is $40 per person or $70 for two people and includes yoga, wine and light snacks. Register via Paypal below.

Yoga Mala for PAWS
Saturday, June 22nd 6pm – 8pm
Our own Callie Hildreth is going to run the Chicago Marathon this October to raise money for PAWS, a no-kill animal shelter on Chicago’s North Side. To help her meet her fundraising goal of $1,000, we are going to hold a yoga mala on Saturday, June 22nd from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
What is a yoga mala you ask? It is a yoga class in which 108 Sun Salutations are completed with a nice looong savasana afterwards (meditation beads are called malas and have 108 beads, hence the name.) Sound like a lot? We have two adaptations to help make it easier for you to join in. One, we are only going to do a half mala, or 54 Sun Salutations. And two, you can sign up as a team of either two or four people, and you can complete the mala relay style! Either form your own team, or come on the 22nd and you can meet a partner here.
Suggested donation of $20 per person will be collected at the door. Juices and tea will be served afterwards. Email us at hello@ganeshayogachicago.com to reserve your spot as space is limited.
Visit Callie’s fundraising page if you would like to learn more about PAWS.
